Concours Portrait de Sebastian Lee 2022

L’association Sebastian Lee pour la conservation du patrimoine musical en danger d’oubli a organisé un concours autour du portrait de Sebastian Lee. N’ayant qu’une image du compositeur en la pièce d’une gravure anonyme de 1851, le concours proposait à tous les artistes de dessin, peinture, gravure quelle que soit la technique employée (aquarelle, huile, fusain, crayon, encre, etc.) de recréer un portrait à partir de la gravure ci-dessous. Il était permis de choisir une reproduction à l’identique, inspirée, en partie ou totalement imaginative du portrait de Sebastian Lee qui peut être de pieds ou représentant uniquement son visage. Le format, la technique et le support sont laissés à la libre appréciation des artistes.

Les artistes avaient jusqu’au 30 avril 2022 pour nous faire parvenir leurs créations et nous avons annoncé les gagnants durant notre concert du samedi 7 mai à Castelsarrasin. Voici donc les résultats!

CONTEST

The not-for-profit organisation Sebastian Lee for the conservation of music patrimony in danger of being forgotten organised a contest on the portrait of the composer. To our current knowledge, there is only one image of Sebastian Lee, represented on an anonymous engraving of 1851. This contest offered the opportunity to all artists drawing, painting, engraving or using any other technic (aquarelle, oils, charcoals, ink, etc.) to interpret this portrait through their own artistic take based on this sole image of the composer. It was permitted to choose an identical reproduction, partly inspired, or totally imaginative of the portrait. The final work presented can represent the composer from head to toes or only his face. The format, the technique and the chosen material was at the discretion of the artists.
